From 22nd June to 6th August 2020, Worldschooling Central will welcome members of our community on an exciting 15-day adventure through the land down under, Australia. We will explore and learn about Australia together as a traveling community, and get a special locals insight into life in Australia from your Aussie born and raised hosts, The King Familiy! Many families dream of visiting Australia, so in June 2020, Worldschooling Central is helping you make it a reality!

We have created an incredible itinerary, guaranteed to show off the very best of Australia, teach you about the vast history and culture and of course, introduce you to our unique animal life. From the Sydney Harbour and Opera House, Uluru (Ayers Rock) & the Australian outback, to Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo and the Great Barrier Reef, together we’ll travel as a group of like-minded families, living, exploring and learning together.

Our Australia Adventure will be a wonderful opportunity to learn about Australia, connect with other travel-loving families, learn about the Worldschooling lifestyle and create a sense of community that will stay with you, no matter where you are in the world.

Day 1Arrival in Sydney, Australia (D)

Today you will arrive in the exciting city of Sydney, Australia. You will make your way to our incredible harbor-side accommodation and enjoy a relaxing afternoon, with free time to do as you wish. In the evening we will come together for a spectacular Welcome Dinner at the Sydney Tower, a revolving restaurant with uninterrupted views overlooking Sydney Harbour, across the city and beyond.

For those Guests who would like private transport to the hotel, this can be arranged on your behalf ($15/person). You will be met by a driver in the arrival area with a sign, who will then transport you directly to our hotel.

Day 2Sydney Harbour & Opera House (B)

Discover the stories, history, and magic of Sydney Opera House with a 1-hour long guided tour that takes you underneath the world-famous sails and along and inside the iconic theatres and foyers that bring to life over 1800 performances each year.

After some free time at Circular Quay during lunchtime, we will regroup to enjoy a 2-hour afternoon adventure on a Sydney Habour Cruise. Hear stories about Sydney’s history and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea.

The evening is free to enjoy as you wish.

Day 3Taronga Zoo (B)

After a delicious breakfast at our hotel, we will enjoy a stroll to Sydney Harbour where we will board a rocket ferry to Taronga Zoo, home to 2900 animals. We will spend the day with the animals of Taronga Zoo on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour, enjoy a ride on the Sky Safari gondola across parts of Taronga Zoo and watch interactive animal shows and zoo keeper demonstrations.

Guests can pack their own lunch to enjoy in the shade or have lunch at one of the on-site cafés

Day 4Free Day in Sydney (B)

Today is yours to enjoy as you wish. Explore Sydney and do the things you want to do, or relax at the hotel with your new friends.

Day 5Uluru (Ayers Rock) & Kings Canyon (B/D)

Today we check out of our accommodation and fly to Ayers Rock in the center of Australia. Guests will enjoy private transport to the airport, where we will board a 3.5 hour flight to the Australian Outback.

Upon arrival, guests will be met by a local guide and begin a 3D/2N Camping adventure to Uluru and beyond. Our adventure begins at Watarrka National Park home to Kings Canyon, where we’ll enjoy outback scenery, including vibrant red dunes. We also make a stop at Kings Creek Station with the option of a short camel ride. When we reach our secluded campsite near Kings Canyon, unwind under the millions of stars whilst your guide prepares a delicious dinner.

Day 6Kings Canyon & Kata Tjuta (B/L/D)

An early start to walk the 6km Kings Canyon rim walk. Admire the sandstone domes of the Lost City, the cliff top views along the North and South Walls and the beauty of the Garden of Eden; all whilst learning about the flora, fauna, history and culture of this area.

Our journey passes Atila (Mt Conner) with its unique flat top, stopping for a break at Curtin Springs before making our way to Kata Tjuta. We’ll spend some time here wandering around the site’s red rock domes on a guided walk, then finish the day watching the outback’s famous Uluru sunset.

Day 7Uluru (B/D)

Witness a glorious Uluru sunrise and enjoy an unguided walk around the base of Uluru. Deepen your understanding of the land and the Mala people during a cultural interpretive walk with an Aboriginal guide. The tour will finish at Ayers Rock Resort where we will check in to our accommodation for the evening.

Dinner will be a delicious self-cooked Australian BBQ together at the hotel.


Outback Pioneer Hotel (3.5*)

Day 8Brisbane (-)

After a relaxing morning, Guests will travel to Ayers Rock airport and board a 3 hour flight to Brisbane, the capital of the state of Queensland.

Upon arrival, we will transfer to our hotel and you will have the afternoon and evening to explore the city at your leisure.

Day 9Australia Zoo (B/L)

After Breakfast, we will begin an exciting adventure to Australia Zoo, the home of the late Steve Irwin, Crocodile Hunter. See the many shows and demonstrations including crocodile feeding and snake handling. Catch a handler as they walk through the park and get up close to the animals!

The day is yours to explore with lunch provided within the park.

Today is a free day – explore the city of Brisbane and the many attractions on offer.

After breakfast, guests will be transferred to the Brisbane Airport where we will board a 2hr20min flight to Cairns – the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.

Upon arrival at the hotel, guests will have free time to relax and explore the city of Cairns.

Day 12Great Barrier Reef (B/L)

Today we explore Australia’s famous Great Barrier Reef, with a full day snorkelling tour. After an early breakfast at our hotel, we will make our way to the harbour where we will board our boat. Visiting two outer reef sites and spending up to 5 hours in the water on the reef, this is sure to be a day to remember!

Day 13Skyrail and Kuranda Scenic Train (B)

Today we make our way into the rainforest, with a full day adventure on the Kuranda Skyrail and Kuranda Scenic Train, including time to explore Kuranda Village.

Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, smells and tranquility of one of the world’s most botanically fascinating areas that has remained relatively unchanged for 130 million years.

Enjoy a truly unique perspective of this ancient landscape with unsurpassed panoramic views of Barron Gorge and Australia’s Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Glide metres above the pristine jungle canopy between Smithfield (Cairns) and Kuranda, enroute descend to explore the rainforest close up at Red Peak and Barron Falls.

Upon arrival at Kuranda, the Village in the Rainforest, you will have time to explore at your leisure. Kuranda is a fascinating mix of quirky surprises, colourful characters and natural beauty, all nestled amidst pristine World Heritage listed rainforest.

In the afternoon, we will board the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway as it meanders its way between from Kuranda back to Cairns.

Opened in 1891, this famous railway descends from some 328 meters (1,076 feet) above sea level down through the stunning rainforest to the city of Cairns below.

Your historic journey in fully refurbished vintage carriages includes English commentary and a short photo opportunity stop at Barron Falls.

Today is yours to enjoy the fabulous city of Cairns. Relax at the hotel, swim at the Esplanade or get amongst the action in the city center.

Is This Trip right for you?
  • You have a real sense of adventure! There is always the potential for things to go wrong – that’s just a part of travel. Of course, we will always do our very best to avoid issues along the way.
  • You understand that group travel is completely different to single family travel. We expect to travel with 30-40 guests, and while we will do our very best to accommodate all of our guests needs, at some time on the trip, compromise will be necessary by everyone!   • You are OK sleeping in a swag (personal canvas tent) under the incredible Australian Outback Sky. Our 3D/2N camping tour of Uluru will be swags with sleeping bags. Being winter temperatures get very cool overnight, however all equipment is set up to ensure a comfortable stay and a once in a lifetime experience. We recommend all guests bring warm clothes.
  • You are adaptable! As the journey progresses, we may need to make changes to our itinerary to ensure we have an increrdible adventure. We will always keep you up to date and give as much notice as possible if/when changes are necesarry.

  • Guests are required to have Trip/Travel Insurance to participate on a trip with Worldschooling Central. We recommend Insured Nomads. Guests will be required to supply details of their insurance to Worldschooling Central prior to departure.
  • All guests will be required to ensure they have the correct Visa for entry to Australia
  • Guests need to be aware that internet access will vary during the trip. We have chosen hotels that include wifi, however the quality, and the physical location will vary by hotel. You MAY NOT have access in your room. We strongly recommend at least one guest per family purchase a SIM card on arrival to ensure you have wifi connection.
  • A minimum of 20 guests is required for this trip to proceed. We will notify all guests when this number has been reached. We recommend that guests not book flights to Australia until written confirmation has been received.
